A main home and a second home aren't the same thing

Policies distinguish between them, and that box changes both cover and price. Declaring it wrong is the first reason a payout gets disputed. Check yours: it costs nothing and saves an expensive surprise.

Water is the claim that worsens most with time

A leak caught within the hour is a hose. The same leak caught in six months is the flooring, the neighbour's ceiling and an argument about neglect. The final figure isn't set by the fault, it's set by the calendar.

Evidencing when your house was last sound

If the last time anyone went in was August and the damage is found in March, you have nothing to show. With documented fortnightly visits you can point at a report with photos and say: on the 12th this was dry.

Some policies require inspections

Some wordings require the stopcock closed during long absences, or periodic inspections. If yours does, our visits satisfy it and put it in writing.

What needs watching
