Towns in this comarca (5 towns)
Each has its own page, with what gets watched there in particular.
- Cunit→The traditional second home for the Barcelona area: blocks and houses that open in June and close in September. Nine months shut leaves its mark on the plumbing and the blinds.
- Calafell→Segur de Calafell and the beach area are kilometres of seasonal housing. Large buildings, summer letting and whole streets without a light in winter: the classic forgotten-flat scenario.
- Bellvei→Inland estates with wide plots and track access. With no permanent neighbour nearby, vegetation and drainage chambers do as they please from October to May.
- El Vendrell→Coma-ruga, Sant Salvador and El Francàs are the heart of second homes in the Penedès. Seafront flats closed all winter, with salt, damp, and management companies that do not inspect your flat.
- Albinyana→Les Peces and Bonaigua are estates inside the woods, with houses used only in summer. Firebreak, water tank and access track: keep those three and the house stays reachable.
What repeats across this comarca
The features that come up most across its towns, and what we do about each one.
Scattered estate
With no permanent neighbour nearby, there is nobody to raise the alarm. The scheduled round is literally the only way anything gets noticed.
Flat in a shared building
Shared stacks and a management company that does not look at your door. What counts here is going in, running the water, airing the place and recording it.
Salt air
Salt seizes blind runners, hinges and locks. We check them, grease them, and tell you when a window will not take another winter.
Empty all winter
Months with the house shut and the blinds down. Dry traps, damp and stale air are the guaranteed result if nobody goes in to air it.
Track access
The track is part of the house: if a storm washes it out, nobody gets in. We check it every visit and warn you before it becomes impassable.
Pool
Level, filtration, cover and winterising. A pool left standing for six months is the most expensive and most avoidable fault a second home has.
